10 Years in Digital Film
The 2023-24 academic year marks a decade of excellence in Digital Film Production at 91¾ÅÉ«Íø. Born from night classes that gained immediate popularity, the program has had nearly 200 graduates - thanks to the booming northern Ontario film industry. The program is led by industry expert Candice Day, with 15 years of industry experience, who returned home to 91¾ÅÉ«Íø Ste. Marie to develop the new program with 91¾ÅÉ«Íø.
The recent 10th Anniversary Screening at Galaxy Cinemas showcased samples of diverse projects by current students and graduates, ranging from commercials to experimental films - reflecting the program's versatility. Alumni have found success in roles spanning from camera work to directing, with some establishing their own production companies. Join us in shaping the future of film production at 91¾ÅÉ«Íø.
Meet Alison
Alison is a graduate of our Digital Film Production program, and her journey surpassed her wildest expectations. Post-production emerged as her true passion and worked toward a career in that area of film. The instructors equipped her with the skills to shine and develop industry connections that helped kickstart her fulfilling career.
Meet Shae
As a current student in our Digital Film Production program, Shae was always interested in filmmaking – he was even making his own films as a teenager. The guidance and support from instructors helped to connect each student’s passion in filmmaking to a career path that aligns with their strengths and goals.

Career Path
Graduates may work as Independent Filmmakers, Screenwriters, Producers, Production Managers, Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, Assistant Directors, Directors, Sound Recordists, Sound Mixers, Editors, Editorial Assistants, Camera Operators and Camera Assistants. They may also gain employment at a variety of companies in roles involving film development, distribution, production, post-production, technical, festival and broadcasting in administrative, business, sales, finance and management capacities.
